The people in the painting are Carl M. Wright and his father Mr. Arthur J. (Sy) Wright, anvil makers for the Columbus Forge and Iron Company.
The steam hammer and the man operating it who is unidentified are from the Columbus Anvil Forging Company, makers of the Arm and Hammer
